About Half Moon Bay Golf - Old Course
The Half Moon Bay Golf Links Old Course is one of the premier golf destinations on the California coast, offering a championship golf experience alongside dramatic Pacific Ocean scenery. Designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane, the Old Course opened in 1973 and has been a beloved destination for Bay Area golfers seeking an escape from city life ever since.
The course design blends classic links elements with Pacific coastal terrain, featuring rolling fairways, coastal winds, and strategic bunkering that create a distinctive challenge. Several holes play along or near the ocean cliffs, providing truly spectacular views that rival any course on the California coast.
The Half Moon Bay Golf Links also features the newer Ocean Course, designed by Arthur Hills, which hugs the ocean even more dramatically. Both courses are part of the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay resort, and while resort guests receive preferred access, public play is available. This is an absolute bucket-list Bay Area golf experience.
