About Stonebrae Country Club

Stonebrae Country Club is a private, members-only club set more than 1,500 feet up in the Hayward hills, with one of the most dramatic settings in Bay Area golf β€” a links-style championship course wrapped in roughly 75-mile panoramas across San Francisco Bay. Designed by acclaimed Scottish architect David McLay Kidd, of Bandon Dunes fame, and opened in 2007, it plays to a par 72 at about 7,188 yards.

For roughly a decade the course was part of the PGA Tour's TPC network β€” branded TPC San Francisco Bay and then TPC Stonebrae β€” and hosted the Korn Ferry Tour's Ellie Mae Classic from 2009 to 2019, where Stephan JΓ€ger set a blistering course-record 58 in 2016. On January 1, 2024 it returned to its original name, Stonebrae Country Club, under owner YCS Investments.

Kidd's routing leans into the mountaintop terrain: rising fairways, dropping greens, native-grass framing and unexpected contours, with elevated tees that open onto the Bay. It is regularly ranked among Northern California's best courses, and tour-caliber conditioning plus PGA professionals make it a genuine player's club, backed by one of the largest all-grass practice facilities in the Bay Area.

Beyond golf, membership includes a year-round heated pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, bocce courts, and clubhouse dining with verandas that share those panoramic views, plus a full calendar of member events such as the whisky-loop Wednesdays.

Stonebrae is a fully gated, private club: play is limited to members and their guests, and membership is by application and subject to approval by the board. It is not open for public tee times. For membership information, contact the club directly.
