About TPC Harding Park
TPC Harding Park is one of the crown jewels of Bay Area golf — a championship municipal course that has hosted some of the biggest events in professional golf, including the 2020 PGA Championship and multiple Presidents Cups. Designed by William Watson in 1925 and dramatically renovated in 2002, the course winds through a magnificent forest of cypress and eucalyptus trees alongside Lake Merced in the southwest corner of San Francisco.
The layout features tight, tree-lined fairways that demand precision off the tee, with fast and undulating greens that will test even the most seasoned golfer. The famous par-3 17th hole, playing over the lake, is one of the most photographed holes in Northern California golf. Despite its championship pedigree, the course is open to the public and remains one of the best values in the Bay Area given its quality.
Tee times book up quickly, especially on weekends — so plan ahead. The facility includes a full pro shop, driving range, and restaurant. Twilight rates offer excellent value for afternoon rounds.
