About Round Hill Country Club
Round Hill Country Club has been part of the Alamo social fabric long enough that its members tend to stop thinking of it as an amenity and start thinking of it as a given — the kind of club that families join and then pass along. Located in the San Ramon Valley between Danville and Alamo, it sits in terrain that gives golf courses natural character: rolling hills, mature trees, and the kind of topography that produces uneven lies and uphill approach shots that a flat-land architect would have to fake. None of that is faked here.
The championship layout has held its conditioning standards over decades, which is a harder thing to maintain than it sounds. The greens are the feature members mention most — consistent speed, reliable surfaces, well-protected by bunkering that forces real decisions on approach. The course plays differently in the dry months than the wet ones, and members who've been playing it for years have a clear advantage over guests navigating it for the first time. Water features on several holes add penalty without being punitive, and the back nine makes better use of the hillside terrain than the front.
Round Hill is private and accessible by membership or guest invitation only. The club's location in Alamo draws primarily from the San Ramon Valley corridor — Danville, Alamo, San Ramon, Walnut Creek. Contact the club directly for membership information.
