A note on naming: the course at 1500 Country Club Drive in Milpitas has operated under three names. It opened in 1978 as Tularecitos Golf Club, was later renamed Summitpointe, and rebranded in 2020 as Bay View Golf Club following a series of multi-million dollar investments aimed at repositioning it as a premium Silicon Valley destination. If you knew this course as Summitpointe, everything you remember about the setting and the layout is still there — the name changed, the hills did not.

The property sits approximately 300 feet above Interstate 680 in the Milpitas foothills, with Ed R. Levin County Park — a 1,541-acre open space spanning hiking trails and hang gliding — bordering the course to the east. From the early holes, views sweep across the South Bay toward the Peninsula and, on clear days, beyond. The 18-hole layout plays par 72 at 6,331 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 70.9 and slope of 125. The course covers a combination of hills, water hazards, and bentgrass-poa greens with multiple tiers that reward careful reading. Four tee sets accommodate players from roughly 4,800 to 6,600 yards depending on the combination.

The recent ownership investment went into greens rebuilds, infrastructure upgrades, and facility improvements designed to bring a private-club feel to a public-access price point. The driving range, putting green, and clubhouse dining are all part of the updated package. The course is convenient to both Milpitas and San Jose, with easy freeway access from I-680 and I-880.
