The Ocean Course at Half Moon Bay is spectacular but challenging. Wind off the Pacific can make it play much harder than the scorecard suggests. Check the forecast and be prepared — but the views on a clear day are absolutely worth it.
Highway 92 connects the coast to inland Peninsula. If you're playing both Half Moon Bay and Crystal Springs in the same trip, Highway 92 links them in about 30 minutes through the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Half Moon Bay gets foggier and colder than inland spots. Even in summer, coastal Half Moon Bay can be 15°F cooler than San Jose or the East Bay. Bring layers — even in July.
